The work of the architect Samuel Gonçalves will be in exhibition in Athens
Samuel Gonçalves, alumnus of the Faculty of Architecture of University of Porto, is one of the winners of the international competition “Europe 40 under 40”. The founding architect of the SUMMARY studio (www.summary.pt) integrates the list of the forty most promising emerging architects and designers in Europe.
Based at UPTEC – Science and Technology Park of the University of Porto, SUMMARY had already been distinguished when, in 2016, it was the youngest architectural studio invited to participate in the Venice Biennale.
The “Europe 40 under 40” selection is made by The European Center for Architecture, Art, Design and Urban Studies and the Chicago Athenaeum Museum of Architecture and Design, with the aim of identifying the next generation of architects who will influence the future of housing and work buildings.
The Portuguese architects João Caldas and José Cadilhe are also among the forty most promising in Europe. The works of the award-winning architects will be in exhibition at Contemporary Space Athens, next to the acropolis, starting on May 18th.
