By examining how creativity acts as a spillover for local development reveals its latent impact on fundraising, socio-economic analysis and evaluation, and civic engagement. In the project CROP – Creativity Rises Opportunities for Partnership there will be a course developed by Xamk (Finland) and FAUP (Portugal) which will be known as PICC: Project Innovation and Cultural Creativity Master.
What is PICC about?
The course is designed to integrate different disciplines, equip professionals with better knowledge and tools, foster leadership as well as respond to global needs. The target audience for PICC are community leaders, creative entrepreneurs, cultural managers, policy makers and urban planners, artists and designers as well as non-profit cultural advocates. PICC is a comprehensive program that seamlessly integrates many disciplines. These include architecture, digital technologies, economics, marketing, and social sciences which are essential for preparing community leaders, creative entrepreneurs, cultural managers, and other professionals with the skills necessary for innovation and sustainable development in their communities. By fostering leadership, this program cultivates a new generation of leaders capable of addressing global challenges with creative solutions and strategic cultural engagements. Responding to the evolving demands of global cultural landscapes and markets, this interdisciplinary educational approach ensures that graduates make significant contributions regionally and internationally, driving positive change and development across various sectors.
Developing strategies to preserve and enhance cultural heritage while implementing sustainable practices promotes cultural creativity and environmental sustainability. Empowering the local communities and fostering a sense of belonging through collaborative initiatives ensures that community engagement is strengthened. Participants from various fields of the cultural and creative industries, as well as those with backgrounds in digital technologies and business, are encouraged to join the course that starts at the end of 2024. This opportunity is open to both current students and other individuals seeking to supplement their skills in new areas.
This program provides learning opportunities anywhere from 5-30 ECTS modules delivered in flexible hybrid forms, including working on practical, real-life-community or industry projects in multi- disciplinary teams. All this is delivered by key actors, trainers and mentors from across Europe. The course is about half a year worth of learning opportunities for the participant.
