UPTEC’s startup uses international dancers to teach dancing

Moot – The Movement Lab (www.mootmovementlab.com) , a startup incubated at UPTEC – Science and Technology Park of University of Porto (www.uptec.up.pt), launched an online platform for people who want to learn how to dance. Everyone can have their own dance lessons and learn new training concepts, through the multimedia contents available on all devices with internet connection.

Moot will choose internationally well-known dancers so that the quality of the multimedia content can be granted. On the online platform, the user can watch classes from different dance teachers, specialized in many styles and coming from all over the world.

This idea began when Vanessa Canto, cofounder of the project, went to the countryside to provide some training and “understood that I wouldn’t be able to follow-up those students as I’d like, due to the distance. Moreover, the money that we need to spend on training sessions all over the world is unaffordable.”, claims Vanessa Canto.

In order to face these challenges, Gustavo Neves Lima and Vanessa Canto founded Moot, an online platform which have training packs for all dancing levels, available 24 hours a day. The startup’s goal is to make dance lessons accessible to everyone and to be an important support to the daily routine of every dancer.

Moot, a startup incubated at UPTEC, has a growing team that is preparing new contents and products for the platform.
